Emergency belt tightening. If you need to tighten your belt more than you have the holes for, add a twist to your belt. This will shorten the overall length slightly for a tighter fit. Works particularly well with work in leather belts. u/bohemian1122 -
2.
Never Trust a Realtor, Even your own. Even the one your mother recommended. Even your cousin. Even your mother-in-law. Never trust a realtor. They make money from making a sale happen. They DO NOT work for you. They work for themselves. Always do your own research. Always hire your own inspector. Always be skeptical. u/SuckMyBootyMilk -
3.

You don't need to go to university straight after highschoolI went to university straight after my highschool, did a subject that I thought was alright because everyone told me it's more profitable and stable. But when it got to uni i struggled to find friends, lacked footing and support to succeed in a subject I wasn't compassionate about. Long story short uni made me miserable and I needed to take a year out anyway. u/grifibastion -

"Premium" gas is a waste in your car/truck that doesn't require it. I've heard for a long time that "premium" gas will give you higher gas mileage, more performance, a cleaner engine, etc. This is not true. Certain engines require higher or lower octane fuels depending on their compression ratio, and to prevent engine knocking. Yes, a high octane fuel can be used in a high compression engine for more power. But it does nothing beneficial for your Honda Civic (or whatever). u/BellyScratchFTW -
7.
Turn on your headlights in fog, rain, or snow to make it easier for other drivers to see you. Turning them on is not to help you see better. And, no, high beams will not make it better anyone. Shining high beams directly into a fog causes glare and the light to be reflected back at you. u/YannisALT -
8.
If you’re asking friends to help you move, have everything packed and stacked and ready to be loaded before they show up. Pay them with food and drinks. You should be completely ready to go even if you hire company movers, because you pay more the longer it takes to get you moved. u/YannisALT -
9.
How to ask for help, not knowing when and how to ask for help doesn't make you strong or self-independent. It can harm you and actually shows that you can't assess your strengths and weaknesses. Follow the SMART criteria Specific - don't come from afar with "hey, are you free this Friday?" Be direct and to the point meaningful - explain why you need help Action-oriented - explain exactly what you need to be done Realistic - ask for something doable and that person actually can help with Time-bound - say when you need help. u/ShanDraeger -

If you cut yourself while shaving, put a dab of sugar on the wound. I cut my lip quite badly and it wouldn't stop bleeding. I was trying to get ready for work and I knew I was going to be late, so I called my boss and told him what happened. He told me to wet my finger and dip it in sugar, then dab it on the wound. The sugar turns into a kind of blood syrup at first, then goes hard like a temporary scab. I couldn't believe how well it worked, every man should know this. u/rayalix -
